ABOUT indy

Indy is an eight-year-old French bulldog living the high life in New Jersey. She’s the daughter and best friend of El & Phil Weir, and brings joy to others nearly every day through her work as a therapy dog. Indy, full name Indiana Jones Weir, loves broccoli, pancakes, cheese, & eggs, and loves nothing more than a good snuggle. In October 2022, Indy was diagnosed with suspected bone cancer - likely osteosarcoma, a highly malignant cancer. Yet, there is hope. This journal is Indy’s Adventure Journal, detailing her brave (or as Indy would say, “BRABE”) adventures as she enters her “Pirate Phase.” We hope that this journal will both provide information and hope about our special, special girl.

Indy will be undergoing life-saving surgery on Wednesday, October 12, which will include the amputation of her right forelimb. We call this her “pirate phase,” and we hope it will be a long, fruitful phase of our beloved girl’s life. But, we are also ready to fight: depending on Indy’s specific diagnosis after biopsy, we will seek treatments like chemotherapy and cutting-edge immunotherapies that have shown real promise.

Thank you for loving her; she deserves every chance she can get.
